Stomping Grounds

DC was my first home, I vividly remember the playgrounds and busy streets of Southeast. I would move around plenty before I graduated high school, but I would find my way back to the capital before it was all said and done. Southeast speaks to my heart, it encompasses so many experiences, colors, concepts, and has been a catalyst for so much of my growth and development. My story cannot be stuffed into a paragraph however, I hope to make your understanding of the art simple.

Heavy-body acrylics, playful lines, brushstrokes, textures, reminiscent colors and intentional placements. Language through color, covering culture, identity, and memory. Spilling from the canvas is Saturday morning cartoons, books & movies from the 90’s fresh summer rain, cedar rocking chairs, and crunchy fall leaves.

Here I recall retrace and reclaim through color language. Let me show you the way without words, let me tell you a story without sound, let me remind you why you like that color so much.
